When creating a "Memo" or “Memorandum”, place the word centered at the top, followed by a To line, a From line, a Dateline, a Subject line, and then the actual body of the message. The primary motive behind memo writing is to broadcast information to a large group of people.

A few other ways in which memos are used are:
  • To recount an event or piece of information;
  • To send a reminder;
  • To pass or circulate information;
  • To highlight an event;
  • To keep an official record of anything.

  1. Opening – Get to the point in the opening paragraph. Keep things simple and short. Make it easy and fast to read.
  2. Summary – Summarize any historical or contextual information needed to support the opening paragraph.
  3. Conclusion – End with a call to action. As our company continues to grow Evidence or reason to support your opening paragraph. Please let me know if you have any questions. In the meantime, I'd appreciate your cooperation as official business information takes place.

Internal Sales Memo - Introduction meeting

Coworkers, Dear Sir or Madam, {{Recipients Name}},

We have all waited anxiously for the new {{NEW TECHNOLOGY}} to arrive…and they finally have!
Our technical crew will be installing the first one overnight Saturday which will allow us to begin sales at opening Sunday.
We will be holding a quick training Sunday morning at 8am for all sales staff. You will be taught the amazing features of this new product and how best to demonstrate them to the customer. Although this {{NEW TECHNOLOGY}} will sell itself, we want you to be prepared for the questions our customers will undoubtedly have.
This....son who sells the most will not only receive their regular commission but an all-expense paid weekend trip for a family of four to London City. Are you ready to sell yet?
Make every effort to attend Sunday's meeting. More knowledge of the system will only benefit your ability to do your job well. Yours sincerely,
