Painter Assistant
Job Function:
The position is to assist a journeyman painter in prepping for paint and painting as
directed.
Reporting to:
Director of Operations or designate
Illustrative examples of work:
1. Preparing surfaces for coatings as directed. Preparation may include pressure washing,
sandblasting, washing with various cleaners, sanding, wire brushing or other methods.
2. Applying protective coatings to buildings and equipment
3. Painting as directed by journeyman painter
4. May be required to perform duties unrelated to painting.
5. Performs other related duties as directed.
Required Abilities and Qualifications:
1. Grade 12 or equivalent.
2. A valid class 5 driver’s license.
3. Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in commercial/institutional painting.
4. Must be physically capable of performing the job.
5. Ability to communicate effectively and work co-operatively with fellow staff.
6. Ability to work independently.
