Classroom News
This week the students learned about the 4 seasons, and our current
season of “Fall”. We compared leaves, sorted leaves and ended our week
with a nature walk where we graphed leaves. See if your preschooler can
sing you our “Seasons” song.
As a culminating activity to our “Apple/Farm” unit we be taking a field trip
to the Cottonwood Farm in Lockport on Thursday, October 20
th
. This is a
wonderful trip where the students will be able to pet the animals, learn
facts from the farmer, go on a hayrack ride, and take home their very own
pumpkin! If you would like to chaperone, please write me a note or
contact me as soon as you can. That way I can give the farm a count of how
many will be going. However, if you plan on going, you MUST take the
“Protecting God’s Children” class prior to going. P.S. –Please do not feel
obligated to chaperone as we know work schedules do not always work
out.
“Book-In-A-Bag”- We started our classroom “Book-In-A-Bag” program
this week. The kids were very excited about this. And we had almost 100%
of you return your book the next day! YAY! We ask that you try to get your
child’s book sent back on Wednesdays and Fridays. Also, in the intro letter
I stated that you would find a “recording sheet”. Please ignore that! I
decided that the sheet would just stay with us in the classroom.
Prayer Bag- Each Friday a student from our classroom will bring
home our school “Prayer Bag”. Inside, you will find a blue direction
sheet. The bag will contain everything you will need to have family
prayer time for the week. We ask that you return the bag on
THURSDAY so it can be passed on to the next person.
