CONTRACT PAYMENT SCHEDULE
All figures are in NZ$.
1 Deposit ($500)
A Deposit of $500, payable at the time of signing the accommodation contract. This
amount is payment in advance for fees from the resident’s Date of Arrival. (A resident who
continues in residence from one contract to the next must sign the contract for each new
residential period but is not required to pay a further deposit of $500.)
2 Resident Placement Fee
A Resident Placement Fee of $325 is payable once the resident has arrived at the
College. This fee is paid once only by each resident (or couple). Subsequent
accommodation contracts or extensions to this agreement have no Resident Placement
Fee.
Short stay residents (less than twelve weeks) pay an additional $25 per week in addition to
the Room Rates in clause 3, in lieu of the Resident Placement Fee.
3 Room rates (from 1 January 2016)
Standard room
Single room, share bathroom with 1 or 2 others $363.00 per week
Studio room
Room with queen size bed and own bathroom $392.00 per week
Large studio room
Studio room with extra space and seating $434.00 per week
3.1 A rebate on fees of $80 per full week is available to any resident who is absent for
one week or more. One week’s notice prior to absence is required to access a
rebate. A week’s notice is also required if there is any change to the return date.
3.2 Residents who reside at Abbey College for 52 weeks (whether continuous or not)
will receive a discount of $15 per week on the cost of their accommodation after 52
weeks.
Note: the discount relates to the charge for the room. Thus, for couples sharing a
room, only one discount of $15 per week is applicable.
4 Other charges
Guests/partners $175.00 per week ($25.00 per night)
(one at any one time; stays in the resident’s room)
Parking space $13.50 per week per car
Replacement key $50
Green card not returned $20
Fee to change rooms once in residence, $40
at resident request
Need for cleaning of room and/or unit $40, or cost of cleaning if this is higher
significantly above the norm
