Systems Management
• Project consultant on chargeback software evaluation, selection, and implementation.
• Project manager for the general ledger implementation with a staff of operations officers,
accountants, technical writers, and programmer analysts.
• As project manager, directed the implementation of the data center financial management
and billing system. This was a reinstallation of the chargeback system.
• Managed a team which developed automated product costing and transfer billing systems.
This project went beyond chargeback into full product/service costing.
• Team coordinator for the selection and implementation of a new general ledger and report
writing system.
• Developed custom financial and management reports utilizing the general ledger reporting
system.
Financial Management
• Established a full accounting function (general ledger, payroll, accounts payable and
receivable, and cash receipts) for six new companies.
• Managed a professional staff of 23 and $5 million budget with responsibility for general
accounting and accounts receivable factoring general ledgers.
• Created a cost analysis group to develop information services billing rates and operational
product costs. This was the financial side of the chargeback system.
• Implemented an automated cash management system utilizing concentration accounts,
zero-balance accounts, electronic wires, and depository transfers.
• Invested surplus funds of $10 million in commercial paper and repurchase agreements.
• Coordinated cost/performance industry surveys to identify cost reduction opportunities.
Training and Development
• University Adjunct Professor and Visiting Assistant Professor, lead faculty in finance for BS
and MBA programs.
• Conduct custom financial seminars on information services principles and practices. I have
been teaching seminars on chargeback since 1982.
• Conference & seminar speaker on chargeback related topics for IT Financial Management
Association.
• Taught training classes for financial analysts, accountants, and programmer analysts.
• Developed training materials and classes to improve the productivity of financial staff in the
use of financial systems.
