All children attending Stepping Stones Daycare will be lovingly guided through
our flexible daily schedule according to their needs and readiness to participate in
structured activities. Children at Stepping Stones Daycare are never forced to participate
in activities, only invited and encouraged in a loving way to try new experiences.
7:30 Open Play
8:00 Breakfast for Early Arrivals and Others as needed
8:40 Circle Time: Opening songs, worship, etc.
9:00 Inside Play
9:30 Outside Play
9:55 Snack, followed by Gym Play
10:30 Theme Activity 1: Staff lead in craft
11:00 Library Time (except Wednesdays: Outside Play)
11:30 Lunch
12:00 Video or Other Quiet Activities
12:30 Nap/Rest Time for Ages Under 5 (Alternate activities for older children)
1:30 Quiet Activities: coloring/drawing/computers/reading
2:05 Gym Play
2:30 Snack
3:00 Theme Activity 2: Staff lead in group play with manipulatives
3:30 Inside Play
4:00 Outside Play
5:00 Prepare to Leave: Staff begin closing procedures. Children help put away toys.*
Children read or play with single toys.
* Children are taught to put away toys after use throughout the day when they are done playing with them.
The end of the day is a final opportunity to teach order and care of our things while checking the room for
toys and personal belongings.
