Day 1 - Agriculture
Session for New Technicians: A general orientation for technicians with two or less years of
experience. Overview of Chapter 91, 102 programs relating to Agriculture will be provided. Note: This
session starts at 9:00 am.
Opening Remarks: DEP Central Office Bureau of Clean Water Director
Ag E&S Planning and Review: Review Ag E&S requirements, tools to use for writing and reviewing
Ag E&S and a walkthrough exercise of writing an Ag E&S Plan.
Break
Manure Management Planning and Review: Review Manure Management requirements,
tools to use for writing and reviewing MMP, and a walkthrough exercise of writing an MMP.
Biosecurity/Site Safety: Review biosecurity and site safety protocols. This session is essential,
particularly for those performing ag inspections.
Lunch
Soil Fertility, Plant Nutrition, and Nutrient Management: Overview of important concepts
for soil fertility, plant nutrition, and nutrient management in agronomic systems for profitable and
environmentally safe crop production. General concepts, management practices, and case study will be
presented
Chesapeake Bay Update: An update regarding the Chesapeake Bay Restoration Strategy,
inspection, compliance and enforcement, reporting and data management.
Panel Q&A: Question and Answer Session on the day's sessions
