2017-2018 TRAVEL CALENDAR
This calendar provides the start and end dates for each term to give you ample time to make travel arrangements
that do not interfere with your child’s class or end of term schedule. No schedule changes will be made to
accommodate travel. A student with an obligation on the last day of the term may remain overnight to ensure
that travel arrangements, especially international travel, do not interfere. When the campus is officially closed, no
students may remain in the dormitories. Exceptions are made only for certain post-season and holiday athletic
competitions, which might affect your child’s travel schedule.
FALL TERM
Information about invited athlete arrivals is to come
September 2 (Sat.) New international students arrive
September 3 (Sun.) Registration for ALL Sixth Formers & Post Graduates (PGs)
September 4 (Mon.) Registration for ALL Third Formers & NEW Fourth & Fifth Formers
Matriculation Ceremony for ALL NEW Students
September 5 (Tues.) Registration for Returning Fourth & Fifth Formers; Convocation
September 6 (Wed.) Classes Begin
October 19-21 (Thurs.-Sat.) Parents Weekend
October 21 (Sat.). Fall Long Weekend begins after student's last commitment
October 24 (Tues.) Students return from Long Weekend by 7:30 p.m.
November 17 (Fri.) Fall Term Ends; Thanksgiving Break begins after student’s last commitment;
Campus closed (except for students with athletic commitments or travel needs)
WINTER TERM
November 27 (Mon.) Students Return from Thanksgiving Break by 7:30 p.m.
November 28 (Tues.) Classes Begin
December 20 (Wed.) Winter Break begins after student’s last commitment; Campus closed
January 6 (Sat.) Dorms open at noon for International Students
January 7 (Sun.) Students return from Winter Break by 7:30 p.m.
January 8 (Mon.) Classes Resume
February 2 (Fri.) Winter Long Weekend begins after student’s last Commitment
February 6 (Tues.) Students return from Long Weekend by 7:30 p.m.
March 2 (Fri.) Winter Term Ends; Spring Break begins after student’s last commitment;
Campus closed (except for students with athletic commitments or travel needs)
SPRING TERM
March 17 (Sat.) Dorms open at noon for International Students
March 18 (Sun.) Students Return from Spring Break by 7:30 p.m.
March 19 (Mon.) Classes Begin
April 26 (Thurs.) Spring Long Weekend begins after student’s last commitment
April 29 (Sun.) Students return from Long Weekend by 7:30 p.m.
May 27 (Sun.) Commencement; Graduates must depart campus by 6:00 p.m.
June 1 (Fri.) Spring Term Ends; Underformers may leave after last commitment; Campus
closed
