WEDDING PLANNING CHECKLIST
Congratulations, you’re getting married. There is a lot to do when planning and organising one of
the most important days of your life. To assist you in planning and organising everything you
need to make your day perfect, Ultimate Wedding Services UK has provided a free wedding
planning checklist. Please bear in mind that this is only a guide and you should add your own
additional items to the list, because no two weddings are the same.
12 OR MORE MONTHS BEFORE
Announce your engagement!
Sit down with your fiancé and parents and have the money conversation. Set your budget and
determine who will pay for what (if others are contributing).
Select dates, venues for your wedding ceremony/reception (if your preferred venue is
available then book straight away).
Decide on the number of guest you wish to attend and draw up an initial guest list.
Start thinking about your wedding theme or style.
Select and ask people to be in your wedding party and confirm
(E.g. Bridesmaids, best man, ushers, flower girls and pageboys etc.).
Consider taking out wedding insurance for those unexpected events that may occur.
Hire a wedding planner/co-ordinator (if you are having one).
Book your wedding official, clergy or registrar.
9 to 12 MONTHS BEFORE
Send out Save the Date Cards.
Make appointments with bridal shops and start looking for your wedding dress and dresses for
your attendants.
Groom to start deciding on what they will wear on the day.
Decide on your style of wedding cake and arrange to speak to bakers.
