AGENDA FOR CHANGE – ANNUAL LEAVE POLICY
Summary
1. The Agenda for Change agreement introduced new
annual leave and public holiday arrangements for all staff
covered by the agreement. The new arrangements are effective
from the 1
st
October 2004.
2. A policy has been developed for NHSScotland in line
with the Agenda for Change agreement which provides a
uniform and equitable approach to the calculation of annual
leave and public holiday entitlements. The policy has gone
through an extensive partnership process, and has been agreed
by the Scottish Terms and Conditions Committee (STAC).
3. The annual leave and public holiday policy for
NHSScotland is outlined in full at Annex A to this HDL.
Action
4. NHS Boards and Special Health Boards are asked to
ensure that the annual leave and public holiday policy attached
to this letter is implemented.
5. Employers are asked to make their own arrangements for
obtaining additional copies of this letter and the policy.
