INSPECTION REQUIREMENTS AND CERTIFICATION FOR ELECTRICAL WORK
INSPECTION REQUIREMENTS AND CERTIFICATION FORM FOR ELECTRICAL WORK IN
PARKING LOTS, DITCHES, TRENCHES, AND CONCRETE CONSTRUCTION ELEMENTS IN
NON-RESIDENTIAL CONSTRUCTION AND EXCLUDING SWIMMING POOLS AND HAZARDOUS
LOCATIONS.
County inspection is not required for electrical work in concrete floors, decks, slabs-on-grade, block
walls, and poured concrete walls prior to the actual pouring of concrete and electrical wiring in ditches
and trenches prior to concealment, provided that the wiring was in a raceway and an equipment
grounding conductor was pulled in the raceway with the supply conductors.
In lieu of county inspections, inspections are required to be done by the master electrician of the firm
which holds the electrical permit. The master electrician must verify that the specific code and
workmanship practices were followed and any code defects identified subsequent to the inspection
are the responsibility of the electrical contractor.
Verification must be submitted on the attached County of Fairfax Electrical Inspection Report and
Certification Form. The master electrician must provide this information within 10 days of installation
or at least 3 days prior to scheduling final inspection:
Underground certification form is required at time of installation. Fax completed form to
703-653-7065 or email form to: LDSBuildingI[email protected].
Completed form must be received, verified, and information must be entered before
final inspection can be scheduled. Any questions call 703-324-1910 option 2, then
option 2 again.
The approved plans were followed.
The installations comply with the current editions of the 2012 Virginia Uniform Statewide
Building Code and the 2011 National Electrical Code.
