Dear Parents and Carers,
I am delighted to inform you that the governing body has appointed Suzanne Garner as Head
Teacher at St Mary’s. Suzanne has been Acting Head Teacher since May last year and will take up her
new appointment immediately.
We were looking for a remarkable Head Teacher who would be committed to continuing the success
of our happy and friendly school and we have absolute confidence that Suzanne has all the qualities
to be that Head Teacher. Suzanne was tested by a demanding whole day interview process which
was assessed by a small team of governors, by advisors from the diocese and the local authority, and
by another local school leader. Suzanne’s appointment was made without reservation. The school
could not be in safer hands.
I would like to thank everyone that emailed me with questions to ask Suzanne at interview. I would
also like to thank the many staff and children who were involved in the process. The children were, as
always, a credit to the school, and to you, and the advisors that were involved in the interview told me
how impressed they were with the behaviour of the children throughout the day and the part that
they play in making St Mary’s such a wonderful school.
