What is a use case template?
A Use Case Document describes how a system, and its actors, will be utilized in order to achieve a specific goal.A Use Case should include a detailed, step-by-step description of how the system will be used by its actors.
It is built around a primary path, specify how to navigate from that primary path to alternate and exception paths. You may be prompted for this information if you use the tool to generate the use case description. Otherwise, a simple "this alternate path starts after step X of the main path" is sufficient.
The system is where you will spend most of your time, but it is important to define and consider these three aspects correctly. While your use case can help you with project planning, it is a project in itself. You should apply project management best practices to your work.
