Resume Objective Sample templates

What is a good objective for a resume?

When writing your resume objective, try to avoid clichés or generalizations. Don't make it yours, but tailor it to the specific organization you're applying to. Don't use subjective or grandiose language and mention career goals that you can achieve within the same organization.

The main purpose of a resume is to quickly highlight your relevant skills and alignment with a particular company's values and/or goals. Objectives are usually placed at the top of a resume to grab the attention of the hiring manager and should clarify your career ambitions.

Finding the perfect career goal or freshman resume goal can seem like a daunting task. You want it to be just right and resonate with the interviewer, but you also don't want to overdo it.

If it really was a no–brainer to make it on your own in business there’d be millions of no–brained, harebrained, and otherwise dubiously brained individuals quitting their day jobs and hanging out their own shingles. Nobody would be left to round out the workforce and execute the business plan. | Bill Rancic
