The inclusion of this memorandum in this supplement serves solely to demonstrate the proper formatting for your memos. Please pay close attention to the following aspects of this memorandum:

  • The spacing and content of the heading: Note that the information in each field (e.g., to, from, re, date) is tabbed to ensure vertical alignment with other pieces of information.
  • The use of Arial font and bold typeface for the document heading, as well as for the headings of all sections within the memo.
  • Page numbering at the bottom of each page, starting from the second page.
  • Single-spacing for the "Question Presented" and "Short Answer" sections, with double-spacing for the remainder of the memo. If your memos contain multiple "Question Presented" and "Short Answer" sections, please single-space within each question and answer pair but double-space between each pair.
  • Left justification instead of full justification to avoid altering the spacing of citations.
