An official business chop – sometimes referred to as a seal or stamp – is a necessity for doing business in Mainland China. In China administrative teams use the chop to legally authorize documents, in stead of a signature.
Chops: the Chinese equivalent of the signature
In Mainland China, the business/company chop is the main means of legally authorizing documentation. This red stamp or seal has a powerful role withing the Chinese business culture. Every company is obligated to have all the needed stamps and therefor need to be registered with the Public Security Bureau (PSB).
